Andrew Chinn Concert

Last Monday Andrew Chinn visited our school. In the morning we had a music and dancing workshop with him and then in the afternoon we had a concert with the whole school performing.  It was great fun. Benjamin got to wear one of the colourful silk vests. What is your favourite Andrew Chinn song?

Fractions

This week in 2J we learnt about fractions.
We found out that 2 is one quarter of 8 and 4 is one quarter of 16. We now know that 2 halves make 1 whole and 4 quarters make 1 whole.

We had fun making caterpillar fractions. What do you know about fractions?

War Monuments Excursion

2J went on an excursion to visit 2 war monuments in our local area. The first was the cenotaph at Richard Russell Park. It had the names of soldiers who died in World War 1 and World War 2.
There were floral wreaths laid at the bottom of the cenotaph.
Mackenzie's family laid a wreath here on Anzac Day in memory of her great grandfather.
The second monument was outside the RSL hall in Manly. It is in memory of everyone who fought in the war. It is a very big rock with the words "Lest We Forget" on it.

Afterwards we went inside to look at some memorabilia from different wars. It was very interesting.
Where is your favourite war monument?
